HOBBS, N.M. (Special) Graveside services for Maurine Dyer, 85, of Hobbs will be at 1 p.m. today at Memory Gardens Cemetery with bishop Clay Reber, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, officiating.

Burial will be under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

She died Thursday, July 1, 1999, at Midland Memorial Hospital.

She was born Jan. 1, 1914, in Grand Saline. She married Joe W. Dyer on Oct. 3, 1929, in Albany, Okla. He preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 1995. She and her family lived in Van Zandt County for several years before moving to the Durant, Okla. area. She and her husband moved to Hobbs in 1939, then to Durant, Ft. Summer, N.M., and Monahans, before returning to Hobbs in 1946, where they established their permanent home. Mr. and Mrs. Dyer owned and operated J.W. Dyer Pumping Service. She was an active member of Lea County Genealogical Society.

Survivors include three sons, Joe W. Dyer Jr. of Hobbs, Marx Dyer and Barry Dyer, both of Midland; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until noon at the funeral home.
