Rob was the 3rd child of 12, son of Michael Gallagher and Helen Gilruth. Killed in WWII in France. He was My Brother I never knew.

Rob saw me just before he left for France. I was born 1/1944 and he was killed 11/1944. We were living in Butte Montana, when he joined the Army.

My Mother told me, he said, "Take good care of her till I get back. But he never returned.

Rob was awarded the Purple Heart and our sister Betty framed it to save. See Picture!

Rob was always very good to our mother. When he got older, when we lived in Butte, he would come home and say, "Mom get ready I am taking you out tonight."

We little knew that morning,
God was going to call your name,
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
