On July 18, 1921 he was joined in marriage to Rena C. Diefenderfer by Rev. John C. Roth. He was a pastor for 44 years with the Bible Fellowship Church and served as District Superintendent of the Allentown District from 1953-1962. He served as Chairman of Annual Conference and was on many boards and committees. From 1966 - 1975 he served as administrator of the Bible Fellowship Church Home in Nazareth. He worked for nine years as a machinist for Grammis and Sons of Allentown until entering the ministry. Under his leadership the Bible Fellowship Church Home was reorganized, expanded and relocated in Nazareth, PA.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons; Ernest R. of Emmaus and Rev. Roy A. of Allentown; a sister, Mrs. Florence Dickert, Emmaus; five grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held on July 2 at 7:30 p.m. at Ebenezer Church, Bethlehem Township, with Pastors Jansen E. Hartman and Keith E. plows officiating. Internment followed on July 3 at the Bible Fellowship Cemetery at Zionsville, PA
