James Garner A loving husband, father, grandfather and Christian man was born May 18, 1933 in Oklahoma to Roger & Reba Dewitt. James proudly served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a member of Eastridge Park Christian Church in Mesquite and a member of Elks Lodge #2404 in Mesquite. He is survived by his loving wife, of 43 years, Carol Ann Dewitt; daughter, Rhonda Dewitt of Houston, TX; son, Dennis Dewitt of Mesquite, TX; brother, Thomas Dewitt of Las Vegas, NV and two wonderful granddaughters, Carley Dewitt and Kayla Dewitt of Mesquite, TX. He also leaves behind sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces and the special friends of the Mesquite Elks Lodge. Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010 at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Carroll officiating. Interment will follow at Laurel Oaks Memorial Park.
