Mary Virgina Lutz died Sunday, March 14, 1999 in a Kansas City, Kansas hospital. She was born May 30, 1916 in Manhattan to George E. and Mary Virginia Reidy Thompson. She graduated from Seven Dolors Catholic School in 1933 and married T. C. "Tiny" Lutz on Nov. 23, 1936 in Manhattan. They moved to JC where she worked for Brown's Floral and First National Bank for a number of years. A member of St. Xavier's Catholic Church, she was active in the church choir, and also Junction City Little Theater.

Survivors include a son, James Lutz of Wahpeton, N.D.; a daughter, Mary Ellen "Cookie" Fritter of Prairie Village; a brother, James Thompson of Decatur, Ga., one sister, Lida Dillard of Antioch, Calif., and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
