JOSEPH RAY MATTINGLY, 27, of Cox's Creek, died Monday, April 17, at Flaget Memorial Hospital after an illness. He attended Nelson County High School for three years and earned his GED after he became ill. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Houston Mattingly of Cox's Creek; three brothers, David, Charles and Pat Mattingly, all of Cox's Creek; a sister, Ann Miles of Bardstown; his grandfather, Charles Culver of Hodgenville; three nieces and one nephew. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 20, at St. Gregory Church, Samuels, with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Robert Gray will officiate. Visitation is at the Mann and Greenwell Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be recited at 7:30 this evening.
