She was born June 20, 1923, in Memphis, MO the daughter of George W. and Nellie M. Francis Newman, who preceded her in death.
She was married November 13, 1948, in Council Grove, KS, to William J. Howe, who preceded her in death April 25, 2003.
She was a restaurant owner and operator in the Boonville area for several years and worked as a cashier/checker for the Jack Crawford grocery store in California, MO. She was a member of Lupus Baptist Church.
Survivors include one brother, William "Bill" Newman of Williamsburg, VA and one sister, Hazel Newland of Moberly, MO; two sisters-in-law, Jessie Garrett of California, MO and Mary Loyce Fullrich of Wichita, KS; one brother-in-law, Lloyd Reichel of California, MO, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Services were held March 2, 2004, at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California, MO with the Rev. Norman Potter, officiating. Burial was in the Salem Baptist Cemetery north of California, MO. Memorials may be made to the Lupus Baptist church. Arrangements were under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California, MO.
