(The Haviland Review) of Haviland, Kiowa, Kansas, OBITUARY of Joseph Lunz, Dec 15, 1932
· Joseph Lunz was born in Claflin, Kansas, November 25, 1883, and at his home in Haviland, Kansas, he passed to the Great Beyond on December 10, 1932, at the age of 49 years and 26 days. On December 31, 1918 {corr. 1919}, he married Nora Hughes of Lycean {sic}, Colorado. To them were born three children, Nora and Alice, who are now 12 and 9 years respectively, and Edwin, who died when he was five months old. He had been previously married to Miss Jessie Spriggs who died in 1914. To that union were born five boys and one girl, three of whom are still living at Belpre, Kansas. They are Verlan, Paul, and Jeston. Mr. Lunz was buried at Belpre, Kansas on December 12, at 10:00 o'clock. Besides the widow and five children, he leaves four sisters, Mrs. Mamie Riley and Mrs. Frank Hager, both of Belpre; Mrs. Ella Drewery {sic} of Bakersfield, California; and Mrs. John Rader of Salina, Kansas; and three brothers, John Oliver Lunz of Bakersfield, California; Wm. L. Lunz of Kinsley, Kansas; and Bert L. Lunz of Leoti, Kansas.
