At Marella
Following an extended illness Mrs. Delila Gollihugh, well known and beloved resident of the Marella community, died at her home Saturday, January 2, at the age of 79 years.
Mrs. Gollihugh moved to Collingsworth County in 1912, but spent years with her daughter Mrs. J.L. Needham her Grandaughter Mrs. R.H Isabell. She was converted in 1870 and joined the Methodist Episcopal Church South and has lived a consistant Christian life since.
Services were held from the Methodist Church at Marella on Sunday at 1 o'clock and were conducted by Rev. C.F. Carmack Marella Pastor.
Mrs. Gollihugh was born on August 27th 1852 in the State of Tennessee and when she was six monts old, her parents moved Cater County, Kentucky where she married Levi Gollihugh in April of 1869. Her husband died on September 10, 1876, leaving her four children two boys and two girls to rear.
She leaves a host of loved ones and freinds to mourn her death surviving Mrs. Gollihugh are 3 children, 13 grand children and 32 great grand children and two great, great grandchildren. The children are C.W. Gollihugh, Mrs. J.L. Needham of Wellington and A.F. Gollihugh of Farmington N.M.
Pallbearers were: P.L. Bartlett, Walker Peason, Claude Easterly, and Estaleene Johnson.
