Mr. Harold Akins of Spring Hill, who has family in Polk County, died of heart disease Saturday (Nov. 26, 2005) at Bayonet Point Hospital. He was 82. Born in Tampa on May 27, 1923, he lived in Lakeland before moving to Spring Hill 12 years ago. He was a retail salesman for Sears. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lakeland. Mr. Akins is survived by his wife, Jean; daughter, Janet Reynolds, Mulberry; sons, Bill Akins, Hudson, Robert Jackson Akins, Largo; three grandsons. Graveside services will be today at Florida National Cemeter in Bushnell. Brewer and Sons Funeral Home.
