BINGAMAN - Dorothy Margaret Bingaman, daughter of Will and Rosa Mauk, was born Oct. 5, 1904, at the family home near Chariton, Iowa and passed away at her home in Chariton early Sunday morning, Feb. 9, 1969. She had just returned to her home on Friday after being in Lucas County Memorial Hospital for two weeks.
Dorothy grew to young womanhood in Whitebreast Township. On November 8, 1922, she was united in marriage to Renick W. Shradar. To this union was born one daughter, Marie. Besides Renick, who passed away on July 4, 1928, she was preceded in death by her parents.
From 1928 to 1951 she served as an operator for the Lucas County Mutual Telephone Company. On April 13, 1942, she was married to Frank Bingaman. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chariton.
She is survived by her husband Frank and daughter, Marie, three sisters, Coleen Gillaspey, Marie Mauk and Mrs. Ruth (Lester) Gookin, all of Chariton. There are also several nieces and nephews, as well as many other relatives and a host of friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J. Edward Quick at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 11, 1969, at the Beardsley-Fielding Funeral Home. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
