Funeral services were held for Jasper Newton Watts, age 77, from the First Baptist Church on August 15, with Rev. C. L. Hall officiating, assisted by Fev. C. L. Moore. Interment followed in the Forest Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were James A. Watts, Ellis Platt, W. C. Boyett, L. C. Watts, J. B. Boyett and Harold Watts. Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of the First Baptist Church.

Mr. Watts was born the son of the late Carroll and Nancy Watts. He spent the early part of his childhood in Chester and received his educatin in the local public school in that community. In 1928, he moved to Polk County, where he had resided for the pst 34 years.

He was married to Miss Dora Delia Barclay on December 13, 1905, in Chester. To this union was born 5 children, whom 3 survive. Mr. Watts was a member of the Baptist Church.

His love and devotion to his family, many friends and this community will long be remembered.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dora Watts of Livingston, Mrs. Addie Mae Watts of Chester and Mrs. Lorean Cowen of Cleveland.; one son, Elton Watts of Livingston; eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Three of the Watts family passed away in one week, Mr. H. M. Watts of Woodville, Mrs. Lucy Jones of Lufkin. and Mr. J. N. Watts of Livingston. They were the last of the immediate family of Carroll Watts of Jasper County.
