He loved softball and was a member of West Pasco Half Century Softball Association, playing with the Dunedin Grey Jays, Home Depot Floridians, and the Kids and Kubs of St. Petersburg. He is survived by his son, Steve E. Plante of Albuquerque, N.M.; three daughters, Patricia Normand of North Berwick, Maine, Sandra Maschi of Hopkinton, Mass., and Virginia Perejda of Wildwood, Mo.; three brothers, Robert Plante of Briston, Conn., Norman Plante of Fairfield, Calif., and Donald Plante of West Milan, N.H.; companion, Mrette Phillips of Holiday; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
