Son of John Wellborne Abbott, Sr. (1873–1953) and Caroline Eugenia Wingo Abbott (1878–1936).

Employee of Camp Croft, Spartanburg, SC.

Survived by his sisters, Thelma Eugenia Abbott (1902-1992), Frances Caroline Abbott King (1915–1987), and Virginia Elaine Abbott Mack (1919-2000); brothers, Kinard Doyle Abbott (1902-1953) and John Wellborne Abbott, Jr. (1907–1967).

Funeral services were held at 3:00 pm, Thursday, at the Shuford-Hatcher Mortuary; burial in Oakland Cemetery.
