She was united in marriage to James B. DeVore on March 29, 1889. To this union four children were born: Roy, Owen, May and Ethel. Her husband and two daughters, May Ahrens and Ethel Melvin, preceded her in death.
She lived most of her life in the Angus vicinity and was a faithful member of the Angus United Brethren Church. In 1942 she moved to Edgar and fellow-shipped with the Methodist people there. Her one joy was to be in the service of the Lord.
She is survived by her two sons: Roy of Long Beach, Calif.; and Owen of Oak, Nebr.; eight grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; two brothers, Morg of Edgar, Nebr., and Gus of Nelson, Nebr., other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 17, at 2 o'clock in the Angus United Brethern (sic) church (sic), the Reverend Harold J. Coates, Methodist pastor from Nelson, officiating.
