George Saxton 80, veteran real estate man of Salt Lake City, died at his home Sunday at 11 p.m. of heart disease, following a short illness.
Mr. Saxton was born in Belton, Lincolnshire, England, October 29, 1954, a son of Thomas and Ann Newcomb Saxton. He came to the United States sixty years ago. For six years following his arrival in this country he resided in Rigby, Idaho, and then moved to Salt Lake City, where he became engaged in the real estate business. He had been an active member of the L. D. S. church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Sarah A. Hall Saxton; four sons, Allen and John Saxton, Salt Lake City; Ernest and Thomas Saxton, San Francidso, Cal.; five daughters, Mrs. Sarah A. West, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Selena Barker, Murray; Mrs. Alice E. Cummings, Tremonton; Mrs. Emma L. Hardy, Ventura, Cal., and Mrs. Annie Thompson, Oakland, Cal., and a brother, Thomas Saxton, Rigby, Idaho; 24 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at noon in the Twelfth-Thirteenth L. D. S. ward chapel by Elder Norton Platt. Friends may call at the White Chapel mortuary Tuesday evening and at the home Wednesday from 10 until 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in City Cemetery.
