Son of Justice Thomas Baltzell & Harriet Seymour King.

Student at Florida Military Institute in Tallahassee, Florida. As a Cadet mustered into service on 5 March 1865 in the Tallahassee area. Participant in the Battle of Natural Bridge, stood guard over prisoners of war and many other activities of a soldier. His regiment West Florida Cadet Corps were surrendered and paroled on 10 May 1865 in Tallahassee. He and his widow, received a Confederate Pension from the State of Florida.
