Businessman: Owner of Shuford Insurance agency. A graduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill where he played football. Bill was a member of the 1969 graduating Class of Concord High School, Concord, North Carolina. He was the class president. He served on the Senior Class Executive Council. He was the Junior class president and a member of the Student Council. Bill was involved in all manner of sports at which he excelled. He played in the Shrine Bowl. While in High School he was a member of the Interact Club. In his senior year, he received the male superlative as Best All Round Student.
Bill Hollingsworth was lost at sea during an outing off the Cape Fear River in North Caroling.

The U.S. COAST GUARD REPORT:
Hollingsworth was last seen in Oak Island, North Carolina in November 1981. He left the island in a twelve-foot canoe to set up gill nets in the Frying Pan Shoals area south of Bald Head Island. He got caught in a storm on the water and never returned. An extensive search turned up no sign of him, and he is presumed to have drowned.

Hollingsworth is a graduate of Concord High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He owned the Shuford Insurance Agency at the time of his disappearance.
