Edith Mays


Edith Mays of Beckley went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006.

Born in Raleigh County, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Nettie Arnold.

Ms. Mays was a retired employee of Cohen's Drug and was a former employee of Marie's Dress Shop. She was preceded in death by brothers, Deniford and Winiford Arnold; sisters, Ethel Gates, Pauline Alley and Flora Walker.

Left to cherish her memory are: her son, Rodney Mays and wife, Linda, of Beckley; two grandsons, Greg and Kevin Mays; a sister, Dorothy Stasieck and husband, Hank, of BelAir, Md.; nieces, Beverly Lyton and husband, Jack, of North Carolina, Gale Ross and husband, Richard, of Beaver, Elaine Sagal and husband, Joe, of Maryland; special friend, Martin Njoku and the employees of Rite Aid of Johnstown Road, Beckley, and Anna Wade and her family of Beckley.

Committal service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum B, with Pastor Roger Pauley officiating. Entombment will follow.

Friends may call 10:30 a.m. until time of the service Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum B, Beckley.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
