Beulah Staggs
Beulah A. Staggs, 91, of Pittsfield died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006, at Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield.
She was born Sept. 30, 1914 in Perry to the late Russell and Mae Belford Akin. She married Elmo Staggs Feb. 29, 1936 in Monmouth. He preceded her in death July 11, 2001.
Also preceding her was a daughter, Evelyn Martin (surviving husband Gene Martin) of Pittsfield, and a sister, Evelyn Robinson.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty J. (husband Don) Hayden of Pittsfield; seven grandchildren, Steve (wife Betty) Hayden, Sandy (husband Dave) Herring, Debbie (husband Scott) Osment, Shane (wife Sara) Martin, and Jeana (husband Darren) Kindle, all of Pittsfield, and Rhonda Kattelman of St. Louis, Mo.; 11 great grandchildren, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Staggs was a homemaker, a member of the Pike County Democratic Party, the Methodist Church, the Rebekah Lodge and the Army Mothers. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 15, at the Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Pittsfield. The family will meet with friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service today, Wednesday, at the funeral home. Private burial will be in the Pittsfield West Cemetery.
