"Dorothy Louise Parker, 86, passed away March 22, 2009 in Tallahassee, Florida. She was born in Liberty Corner, New Jersey. She was a carpet installer for Sears. She met her partner and the love of her life Gene Thaxton, at the Senior Center. They fell in love and became best friends and partners. They enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing. She enjoyed life. They went fishing on Friday and were working in the yard on Saturday when she had a heart attack. "Thank God we had time to tell her goodbye and let her know we would miss her."

"She is survived by a son; John Chapman (and wife Ann) of Inverness, FL; two daughters; Connie Long (and her husband Camden) of Crystal River, FL and Diane Herring (and husband Terry) of Crawfordville, FL; grandchildren, Stan Chapman, Kathy Hillman, Jimmy and Mark Herring, Teresa Brannan and Glenn Thomas; and 10 great grandchildren."
