Cremation has taken place and at his request there will be no funeral services.
He was born Jan. 3, 1922 in La Porte, IN, to William Kanton and Hazel Francis Brewer. He was employed at American Rubber Co., Slicer Corproation and Clark Equipment Co. and retired from Herman Miller in 1990. He was a World War II Army Air Corp veteran serving in North Africa, Sicily, Italy and Germany. He was a founding member of the La Porte Amateur Radio Club.
He is survived by his four children, Ruth (Randy) Ludlow of Benton Harbor, MI; Debra (Phillip) Dickson, and William Kent Brewer of West Olive, MI; Donna Kniola of La Porte; a sister Mabel Dee of Brandon, FL; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Brewer, both parents, three sisters Ruth Gardner, Viola Mae (Desi) Levendoski, Helen Fulford, and a grandson Scott Hemphill.
