Elizabeth Hickman Chatwin, formerly of Eureka, Utah, passed away on May 22, 2009, in Los Angeles, California. Born to Etta Hills and Edwin Paul (Ned) Hickman on November 22, 1914, Beth attended Eureka schools and spent her free time with "The Big Five" (her close group of friends) and her paternal grandmother with whom she shared a special bond. Beth married Max R. Chatwin on January 28, 1936, in Eurekaand was blessed with three sons, each of whom she was very proud. The family moved to California in 1941 but made many trips back to Utah. She enjoyed being a wife, mother, and homemaker and, as her sons married, felt blessed with the daughters and grandchildren that came into the family. Joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as an adult, Beth served in many capacities and made many close friendships. She was always ready to help anyone in need and made all those whom she met feel special. Beth is survived by two sons: Jerry (Heidi), McGrath, Canada; Dan (Patsy), El Segundo, California; daughter-in-law: Jo, Westchester, California; 14 grandchildren;and many extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband Max, son Ed, and granddaughter Rachel. Interment was at Santaquin Cemetery.
