On October 31, 1815 as Tench Ringold, he married Mary A. Lee (1786-1826) at Loudoun County, Virginia. Her place of burial is currently unknown.

In the codicil, Thomas leaves a legacy to his newborn son Tench. It is therefore proven that he was born prior to 1777, presumably on the same date, just one year prior in 1776.
