Clinton, MO 1939 - Mrs. Alice Walker died Friday about 5:00 a.m., after several months' illness with heart trouble and complications, at her home about four miles east of Clinton on Highway 35, where she lived with her son, Ellery. Alice Tolly Ashbaugh was born April 23, 1873, in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where she lived until about 18 years old, then moved to Aurora, Nebra., where she was employed. December 27, 1892, she married Lee Walker of Aurora, and in 1894 they moved to Henry County, where she had since lived. Mr. Walker died in 1923. Mrs. Walker was a member of the Clinton Christian Church, and a kind and devoted mother to her three surviving children, Ellery Walker of the home and Lloyd Walker and Mrs. Henry Ground, both east of Clinton. Sisters and brothers who survive are: Frank Ashbaugh, Mrs. Lucy Haines of Iowa; S. P. and J. S. Ashbaugh, Mrs. Sophia Spencer of near Pittsburg, Pa., and Martin Ashbaugh of Tuttle, Okla. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon, interment at Englewood Cemetery.
