A native of Los Angeles, he lived in Fontana for 45 years. Before retiring, he had worked as a furniture and auto upholsterer, and was well known for deep-pit barbecues which he catered for the Elks and Shriners. He was past member of the Elks Lodge and won the Nevada State Elks Ritualistic Contest in 1960. He was survived by his two sons, Ralph L., Jr., and Walter, both of Fontana, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was the son of the famed Spanish chef Barbecue King of Southern California, Jose (Joe ) Romero and Modesta Carrasco...... Brothers were Frank, Edward,and Joseph Jr. Romero, Brothers are burried at Calvary Cemetery Los Angeles, Ca. and sister Maud Romero Bassity.
