(My dad) Donald was the son of Ralph Eugene McCulley and Thelma Phay Bloom. He married Geraldine Welch on November 17, 1951. They had six children: Dawnee, Melodee, Michael, Denise, Michelle and Flint. Gerry had two children when Don married her and he raised Shannon and Jeffrey as his own. When he was 16 (1943) he joined the Coastal Geodetic Survey (now known as the Coast Guard) He enlisted in the US Navy on Sep 13, 1947 and served on the USS Boxer (CV-21) and the USS Tarawa (CV-40) He received an Honorable Discharge on September 13, 1949. He was called back into the Navy on Feb 12, 1951, to serve during the Korean Conflict. He was a QM2 aboard the U.S.S. Haven (AH-12) and received Honorable Discharge on May 22, 1952. He held many different jobs. He was a logger and he worked on the Mossyrock dam. He was a character. He believed in Bigfoot and the Wee people. He was full of life.
