Johnny Kesler Bohannon, 61, of Bagdad, Ky., died March 17, 2009, in Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville, Ky. He was born November 27, 1947, in Shelbyville, Ky., to Harold and Virginia Kesler Bohannon. He married Judy Thompson on June 10, 1966.

He was a teacher at Shelby County High School, where he was sponsor of Future Farmers of America and Young Farmers. He was a member of Elmburg Baptist Church, and he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He was an active member of the Kentucky Education Association; member and past president of the Shelby County Education Association and member of the National Education Association.
