---Mrs. Bertha Mildred Allen of 705 South Kalamazoo avenue passed away at Oaklawn hospital today at 12:45 p.m. after being seriously ill for one year, entering the hospital, September 26 of this year. She was born April 19, 1912 in Battle Creek, the daughter of the late Roy Carroll and Mrs. Norma Ewer. She was married to Lorenzo Allen, January 13, 1932 in South Bend, Ind. Besides her husband she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Norma Ewer of Marshall; one sister, Mrs. Marian Reader of Battle Creek; two half-sisters, Miss Addeline Ewer and Miss Jeanette Ewer, both of Marshall; one half-brother, James H. Ewer of Battle Creek; and several neices[sic] and nephews.
---The remains were removed to the Court funeral home pending funeral arrangements.

The funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Mildred Allen of 705 South Kalamazoo Avenue, who passed away at Oaklawn hospital Friday at 12:45 p. m. after a serious illness of one year, will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 p. m. from the Court funeral home with the Rev. Harry Staver of the Presbyterian church officiating. Burial will follow in West Eckford cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
