Silas was the son of Mathias Jensen and Laura K. Ellingson. He grew up in St. Paul,MN and went to a private school.Silas married Dora Stamm in St. Paul and moved to White Salmon,Washington onto a 38-acre apple ranch. Silas and Dora had two children; Donald M., b.11-6-1916, and Dorothy Ruth, b. 9-17-1918. On August 24, 1923 while cleaning a hunting rifle it discharged killing Dora. Silas and his two children and his mother Laura moved to Spokane, then to Walla Walla. Silas then remarried to Eunice Mather on 3-23-1926 in Spokane. Together they had two children; Mildred Lois, b. 12-9-1928 in Spokane, and Robert Mather Jensen, b. 10-16-1932.Silas died on 7-15-1973, age 81, from heart disease, and is interred in the older mausoleum in Acacia Cemetery, Seattle,WA.
