He graduated from Colton High School in 1927 where he was a track star, and was a carman for the Pacific Fruit Express for 32 years. He was survived by his wife, Geraldine Akers of Tucson, Arizona and his son,Gregory Akers of Fountain Valley. Knopsnyder Mortuary is in charge of the funeral arrangements with graveside services at 2:30 p.m. at Montecito Memorial Park on December 23, 1981.
