She was born Sept. 23, 1918 to Oliver Perry and Minnie Dilley Watson in Henning. She married Stancil Baker on May 7, 1935 in Tippecanoe County, Indiana. He preceded her in death in 1963.
Surviving are seven daughters, Joann (Charles) Gill of Sparks, Nevada, Dorothy Longest of Hoopeston, Carol Atkins of Champaign, Betty (Dick) Goodrum of Maroa, Judy (Bob) Demorest of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Barbara Shope of Redondo Beach, California and Peggy Krueger of Lafayette, Indiana; eight sons, Walter (Rita) Baker of Crest Hill, Florida, Russell (Ann) Baker of Elburn, James (Charleen) Baker of Lancaster, California, Everett Baker of Sarasota, Florida, Lawrence Baker of Thonotasassa, Florida, Ron (Becky) Baker of Watseka, Stephen (Lynn) Baker of Hoopeston and Oliver Baker of Danville; one brother, Lyle (Jewel) Watson of Rossville; 48 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Shirley Spicer and Lois Whitlow; three sisters and two brothers.
