Mr. Kassanavoid went to his heavenly home Thursday, July 29, 2010, in Lawton.
Burial will follow at Post Oak Cemetery in Indiahoma under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home.
Mark was born Aug. 24, 1958, in Lawton, to Stacey and Virgie Pahcheka Kassanavoid. Mark grew up in Cache and graduated from Cache High School in 1977. Mark was employed by the City of Lawton from July 8, 1981, until his retirement on September 25, 2008, with 27 years and 2 months of service. Mark was a member of the Comanche Nation of Oklahoma and Post Oak Mennonite Brethren Church of Indiahoma. He enjoyed playing pool and won several tournaments. He also enjoyed watching the L.A. Lakers, OU Sooners and Dallas Cowboy Football.
Mark is survived by his mother, Virgie Kassanavoid, Cache; a brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Romelia Kassanavoid, Cache; a sister, Marilyn Kassanavoid, Cache; five aunts: Arlene Wilson and Linda Roach, both of Indiahoma; Beatrice Arterberry, of Lawton; and Vivian Holder and Edna Pahcheka Poafpybitty, both of Cache; uncles: Paul Pahcheka and Howard Roach, both of Cache, J. D. Pahcheka, of Carnegie; and Harley Roach, of Indiahoma; four nieces: Alice, Stacia, and Lindsay Kassanavoid, and Denise Poemoceah; five grandkids: Philip, Coral, Jordan, Lena, and Jasmine.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stacey Kassanavoid; grandparents: Mary Redbird and Flora Roach; granddaughter, Mila Douglas, and uncles: Bobby Pahcheka, Elton Pahcheka Jr. and Melvin Roach Jr.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
