George Casper Cox, life-long resident of Fredericksburg, died suddenly of a complication of diseases at his home at Amelia Street, Saturday afternoon. He was 70 years old. His health had been bad for several years.
Mr. Cox was for many years a member of the local Pythian lodge and the Volunteer Fire Department. He was a painter, paper hanger and plasterer.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Cox, and one brother, J. Wilmore Cox.
Funeral services were held today at St. Mary's Catholic Church, conducted by Father James H. McConnell. The remains were placed in a vault and burial will take place at a later date.
Active pallbearers were members of the Fire Department and the Pythian Lodge.
