His life began in Rappahannock County and he always cherished driving back to
the mountains, down the country roads and to little Oakley Baptist Church where
he first knew God had called him to the ministry. In his later years one of his
proudest accomplishments was a little book he wrote and had published –
"Imprints in the Sands of Time", a small book that had a big impact with so many
friends and strangers. He so enjoyed playing his violin with his dear friend,
Roger Rouse. And on July 5, his 90 birthday, he enjoyed a wonderful surprise
party at Waller's Baptist Church. It was there that he delivered his final
sermon on August 9.

It was our privilege as his wife, children and grandchildren to have a Christian
husband, father and grandfather with integrity and Christian values. He lived
his life as he asked others to do. We love him dearly and he will be missed
beyond words. We take comfort knowing he is with God.

A special thanks to Dr. Michael Goeden and his staff at Prime Care.
"Life is real, life is earnest and the grave is not its goal. From dust thou
art, to dust returneth was not spoken of the soul. Well done thou good and
faithful servant."
