According to his obituary which appeared in the Newton Record, May 29, 1952, John Dixon Biggs, age 61, carpenter, died May 24, 1952, Hickory and was buried in Good Hope Cemetery. He was survived by his wife Tinie Jeter Biggs, by three daughters, Mrs. J. E. Willis of Columbus, Georiga, Mrs. Spencer Baucum of Chunky, and Mrs. Homer Waldrop of Bessemer, Alabama, by four sons, A. O. and J. P. Biggs of Bessemer, Alabama, and Calvin and Ray Biggs of Houston, Texas; also by five sisters, Mrs. Wyatt Williams of Hickory, Mrs. M. A. Clark and Mrs. Angie Dearman of Stonewall, Mrs. Fronie Thigpen and Mrs. Allie Smallwood of Laurel; also by two brothers, Jason and Calvin Biggs of Laurel; 19 grandchildren.

"John Dixon Biggs" registered for Selective Service (WW1) as a resident of Hickory, MS, where he was employed as a sawmill laborer for L. H. Sadler. He indicated that he was born at Hickory on 22 Aug 1891. He was married with three children.
1920 census, John Biggs was rooming at Hickory (no family listed). His family is not located on this census.

In 1930 he was living in Jasper County, Mississippi with his family. Listed on the 1940 census as living in Newton Co. near Hickory.
