Mrs. Mary Gilbert, one of the oldest residents of Lakeville, died Sunday, at the age of 87. Mrs. Gilbert was born at Lakeville on April 7,1822 and all her life was passed there. Her husband was the late Martin Gilbert, whose death occurred thirteen years ago. She was the sole survivor of a family of nine children. She had two children, John Morris Gilbert of Los Angeles, Cal. and George Gilbert, whose death occurred at Lakeville three years ago. Mrs. Gilbert fell and broke her hip six or seven weeks ago and was unable to withstand the shock.
[Notation: They made the mistake of listing her as Mary, she was Sarah (Black) Gilbert, not Mary.]
