REQUIEM MASS FOR MRS. G.A. LIEBER AT ST. JAMES CHURCH
Pioneer Woman Laid To Rest In Calvary Cemetery This Morning
Requiem mass for Mrs. G.A. Lieber was held at St. James Catholic church this morning at 9:30 o'clock. The funeral being attended by a large group of those who have known the deceased for over half century, she has been a citizen of this city.
Rev. Edward Geraghty was in charge of the mass and gave the sermon. He was assisted by Rev. Martin Brannen, Mrs. L.B. Niemeyer was in charge of the music and directed the singing of the mass by St. James Choir.
Burial was made in Calvary cemetery beside Mr. Lieber, who passed away February 22, 1934. Pallbearers were Ben Miller. Peter Schmitt. J.M. Severn, A.J. Rulon, D.R. Brockman and R.E. Dinehart.
Mrs. Lieber was Miss Mary McCourt before her marriage. She was born in Woodford Co. Kentucky, August 21, 1854. When a child she moved to St. Peter, Minn. with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McCourt. November 19, 1883 she and Mr. Lieber were married.
Survivors are Mrs. Matze, Duluth, a daughter and three sons, Fred of Milwaukee, Harry of Wahpeton and Gerard of Dallas, Texas. There were also nine grandchildren.
Here for the funeral services were Mrs. Matze, Harry and daughter Mary Frances, and Fred Lieber, Gerard Lieber, who was unable to attend the funeral services was here in August and visited his mother and other members of the family on Mrs. Lieber's 84th birthday anniversary.
