John Henry Havercroft, age 59, of Myton died Sunday, August 15, 1999 at the Uintah Basin Medical Center from complications due to diabetes. He was born June 24, 1940 in Sioux City, Iowa to Grant Martin and Mary Katherine Brown Havercroft. He married Maude (Sue) Anderson in 1965; later divorced. He married Joyce Uresk Rossiter October 23, 1992. John began working the oilfields at the age of 15 and followed the rigs from state to state most of his life. As his health began to decline he chose to settle in Myton.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce, Myton; a son, John Martin (Rhonda) Havercroft, St. Marys, GA; a sister, Mary Jane (Tiny) Christensen; step father, A. D. Webb; half brothers, Dennis (Rochelle) Webb and David Webb, all of Abilene, TX. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 19 in the Myton LDS Church, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Myton City Cemetery under the direction of the Hullinger-Olpin Mortuary.
