Family and friends called Frederick Roeske "Fred". His wife's obit states that he was a native of Schwetckow Germany. At first I thought Fred's first name was William, but I noticed in his daughter, Clara's obituary that he was named as Frederick E. Roeske. He is Frederick on his Naturalization Papers & Frederick in his wife's obituary.

OBITUARY:
Fred Roeske was found dead in bed at his home, 1610 West Graham Street June, 16, 1911. The deceased leaves a wife and 7 children. He was a miner employed by the McLean Co., Coal Company.
The funeral of the late Fred Roeske was held on June 18, 1911 at 4 O'clock from the residence on West Graham Street. The services being conducted by Rev. Ed Klimpke of the Church of Peace.

Burial was made in the city cemetery. The Pall Bearers, all members of the Coal Miner's Union being as follows: Gus Kroll, Charles Osling, Charles Hageman, Oscar Young, John Morgan, and Henry Potihoff.

Note: This obituary says that Fred died leaving 7 children; He had 11 children total but: 1 died an infant in 1906, 1 died 3 years old in 1908, 1 was born a few months after he died. Fred's wife was expecting Anna when he died. Anna is listed below in the list of Children. 8 children listed on the 1910 census.

Fred and Bertha were married on March 9, 1893 in Bloomington, McLean County, Illinois.

Daughter, Clara's obituary states her father's name as Frederick E. Roeske.
