Ira C. "Dale" Goodnite, 71, of Ft. Loramie, died at his residence on Wednesday, August 18 1999.

He was born on July 7, 1928 in Hartford, W. Va., son of the late George and Elma Fields Goodnite. He was a machinist with Minster Machine, having retired in 1993. He was a member of the Ft. Loramie American Legion Post, and the VFW Post of Chickasaw. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force.

Surviving are a daughter, Debbie Black of Piqua; a son Jeffrey Goodnite of Greenville; two stepsons, Jim Caruthers of Canton and Terry Caruthers of Georgia; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Dale (Becky) Kiener of Louisville; 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; a brother, Donnie Goodnite of Hartford, W. Va.; and two sisters, Gertrude Rizer of Racine and Gloria Smith of Middleport.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son and a brother.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 20, 1999 at 8 p.m. at the Cromes Funeral Home, 302 South Main Ave., Sidney, Ohio, with Rev. Philip K. Chilcote officiating. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Chesire, at a date to be announced later.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
