Marion Lamond grew up in Lapeer, and worked as a teacher in San Diego, California sometime before, and after, her marriage to W. Francis Laughlin in 1898. Her first three children died in infancy, due to intolerance of milk (cow's & mother's). Her fourth child, Owen, was fed goat's milk, and lived. The family attended 1st Presbyterian Church in Lapeer, and owned businesses in the area. Late in life they owned the convenience store at Bronson Lake.
