Thomas Ralph Atmar, fifth child of Dr. R. L. and Laura Nelms Atmar, was born August 20, 1878, at Pennington where he received his High school education. He had a quiet, courteous, somewhat serious disposition, qualities that characterized all the children of Richard and Laura Atmar.
He entered Southern Dental College of Atlanta, Georgia, in 1899, and the Marion Sims Dental College of St. Louis in 1901 to 1903. In November, 1908, he was married to Leila Templeton and settled in Crockett where the couple reared their family while he practiced dentistry.
His death came August 3, 1916, and he was interred in Glenwood Cemetery at Crockett. Their children are:
