Last Rites Held for Pioneer Woman Here Thursday
Neoma Cathren Lock, daughter of Ruben and Mary Lock, was born at Hudson, Illinois, December 4, 1860. She passed from this life at Oklahoma City, March 27, 1942. She had reached the mature age of 81 years, 3 months and 23 days. She was the last of eight children inn her family.
She was married to Andrew O. Hash at Gridley, Illinois, December 29, 1881. They came to Kansas and located on the McDonough farm east of Fredonia. They were away some time, but returned to farm near Fredonia in 1902. They moved to Fredonia in 1920.
Mr and Mrs Hash were the parents of six children, three daughters and three sons: Mrs Effie Cooper of Carmel, Calif.; Mrs Neoma Gatten of Oklahoma City; Mrs Grace McDonough of Carmel, Calif.; Tom S. and Wiley T. of Fredonia, and the youngest, Frank A., who passed away March 19, 1929.
Mrs Hash is survived by five children, 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, other relatives and a number of dear friends.
She had been a Christian since her early youth, and was a loyal member of the First Christian Church in Fredonia for many years.
Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock Thursday morning at the Wilson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ed. A. Reinhardt, pastor of the First Christian Church, in charge.
