Edwin F. Phelps, 77, a resident of Bolivar, died at 11:05 AM Friday, November 27 in St. John's Hospital in Springfield after a brief illness.
He was born in Cedar County and had made his home in Springfield for several years, moving to Bolivar in 1956. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Springfield.
Survivors are his wife, Wilma Watts Phelps of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Helen Smith of Hutchison, Kan.; one sister, Mrs. E. M. Love of Springfield; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 29 at 3 PM in Butler Chapel with Mr. Dennis Smith officiating. Escorts were: Clarence Barton, Bill Greer, Bob Carns, Lloyd Cook, Glen Stoakes, and Dorman Snider. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Butler Funeral Home.
