She was the daughter of T. J. and Ida Graham Mankins. She married Perry "Bill" Speer on Jan. 5, 1943. She and her husband lived most of their lives in Calfornia and then moved to Stuart in 1979. She later moved to the McAlester area and then on to Van Buren, Ark., where she could be next to her family. She was of the Assembly of God faith and also attended the First Baptist Church of Stuart. She passed away at Crawford Healthcare and Rehab Center in Van Buren. Survivors include a sister, Joyce Pennington, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a brother, Paul Mankins, of Cedarville, Ark., and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Perry "Bill" Speer, and two sisters, Gladys Smith and Dorothy Frye. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Pryor Cemetery Chapel with the Rev. J.T. Carnell officiating. Burial will be at Pryor Cemetery, Stuart, under direction of Bishop Funeral Service.
