James E. "Ed" Heartley 1913 - 2009 James Edwin Heartley, 95, of Longview passed away Jan. 9, 2009, at the Hospice Care Center.

He was born Feb. 24, 1913, in Tualatin, Ore., to Alice and William Heartley. He moved to Kelso in 1922 and married Mabel Modin Nov. 6, 1936.

Ed worked at Long Bell/International Paper.

He is survived by a daughter, Elaine Coats Farmer (Stuart); a son, Douglas Heartley (Bonnie); seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his friend, Bud Allen.

Thank you to Pacific County Home and Community Home Health & Hospice for their compassionate care.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Community Church in Longview. Viewings will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Columbia Funeral Service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Home Health & Hospice, P.O. Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632.
