Mrs. Allen, a native of Gough, graduated from Waynesboro High School and Georgia State Women's College in Milledge-ville. She completed her working years as district manager with Field Enterprises. She was a member of the DAR and First Baptist Church of Waynesboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar Allen; and her parents, Irene Robinson Stroud and Daniel Lee Stroud, formerly of Burke County.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Lovett and Mary Martha Rugg, both of DeKalb County; and two grandsons, Norman W. Gibson and Dan Gibson, both of Atlanta. Pallbearers were Dr. Lamar Murray, Dr. Walter Voyles, Dennis Taylor, John Thomas Wynne, Richard O'Quinn, Doug Cates, David Dixon and Louis Abbott.
