Funeral arrangements have not been completed for Charles Wilson Maddox, 60, a veteran of World War I, who died Friday night at his residence, 802 E. Belknap, after a long illness.


He was born in Brownwood and had lived in Fort Worth 35 years.


Maddox was gassed in France during World War I and had never completely recovered. He retired almost 10 years ago because of failing health and had been Confined to a wheelchair for three years.


Maddox was a member of the Baptist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.


Survivors are his wife and one son, Arthur Maddox of Fort Worth.
