She was united in marriage to Lucious "Lute" William Stroud on November 26, 1905. To this union seven children were born.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lute, and six sons, Paul, Raymond, Cleo, Allen, Weldon, and Wayne. Also one brother Gay Allen. She is survived by one daughter Mrs. Henry ..(Thelma) Gillman , four daughter-in-laws; Ruth, Jane, Mildred, all of Allerton, and Margrueite of California, and one son-in-law, Henry Gillman of Allerton, one brother-in-law Walter, and sister-in-law Louise of Independence, Missouri. Also ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren, besides a host of relatives and friends.
She attended the Christian church when her health permitted her to go. She enjoyed life and keeping house and was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all.
Services were held on Tuesday, August 2, 1977 at 1:30 P.M. from the Randolph Funeral Home in Allerton with the Rev. John Kukovich, officiating. Music was furnished by Geannie Radcliff, soloist, and Vivian Duncan, pianist. Pallbearers were: Lyle Gillman, Larry Gillman, Dennis Thomas, Ray Stroud, Bill Goodyear, and Bill Downs. Interment was in the South-lawn Cemetery in Seymour.
